2 Lives Lost In Train, Truck Collision in Lagos

Two persons Thursday lost their lives after a train collided with a truck at the Fagba area of Lagos State.

The incident was confirmed by the General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Mr Adesina Tiamiyu, in an interview.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the day, while multiple accidents involving some trucks and cars were recorded on the popular Kara Bridge.

“Yes, we are aware,” Mr Tiamiyu said, adding: “We moved immediately from that incident there (on the Kara Bridge) straight to Fagba where a trailer rammed into a train. Unfortunately again, two people lost their lives to that incident.”

The LASEMA boss said the truck has been evacuated from the road to ease vehicular movement in the area.

On the cause of the accident which appeared to be a strange one, he said he could not ascertain what actually led to the accident but relevant agencies were investigating the incident.

“The police are on top of that situation, they are doing their own investigation. I will not be too sure of who ran to who but I know that there is a collision between a train and a truck, killing two people in the process,” he maintained
