Ekiti Assembly Confirms Justice Akintayo as EKSIEC Chairman

The Ekiti state House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Justice Cornelius Akintayo (RTD) as the chairman of the Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission, EKSIEC.

The nomination of Rtd Justice Akintayo had earlier been sent to the House of Assembly By Governor Biodun Oyebanji for scrutiny and onward confirmation.

Screening the Nomination, some of the Assembly members including Adeoye Aribasoye and Tajudeen Akingbolu described Justice Akintayo as a competent hand capable of steering the affairs of the commission.

They expressed confidence that the state electoral body would deliver on its mandate considering the pedigree of Justice Cornelius Akintayo.

In his reaction Justice Akintayo promised to use his wealth of experience to improve the commission and also maintain his legacies of integrity.

Justice Cornelius Akintayo was a former judge of the Ekiti State High Court and also served in many positions in the Nigeria judiciary before he retired from active service.
