Ekiti assembly to embark on assessment of linkage roads
The Ekiti State House of Assembly Committee on Works has directed the Federal Ministry of Works to submit list of contractors handling federal roads in Ekiti to the Assembly for onward dialogue on the situation of things and the way forward.
Chairman of the House Committee on Works and Transportation, Mr Hakeem Jamiu gave the directive at a meeting with various stakeholders in charge of road construction, maintenance and rehabilitation in Ekiti state.
Jamiu who decried the current situation of roads in the state said that government would not rest on it’s oars at ensuring that a long lasting solution was provided to ameliorate the suffering of the people.
He said that the Assembly will embark on an on-the-spot assessment of all deplorable linkage roads within the state to ascertain the level of damage and the way forward.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ekiti State Ministry of Works, Mr Sunday Komolafe while mentioning the efforts and various intervention of the state government through the ministry on various roads constructed and rehabilitated so far, stated that contractors will soon move to site to complete ongoing work.
