Over 1,000 recruited teachers in Osun to resume work

Osun State Commissioner for Education, Folorunso Oladoyin says another one thousand five hundred newly recruited teachers will resume work in the next two weeks.

This according to oladoyin is in addition to the previous one thousand teachers recently recruited by the Administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

The commissioner stated this at a press conference organized by the ministry of education on the commencement of the 2022/2023 academic session in the state

Oladoyin noted that the new recruits are part of the process of recruitment embarked NJ upon by the government in the year 2020 to inject fresh and more qualified teachers into the primary and secondary education sector of the State.

The commissioner said part of the measures introduced by the ministry in its efforts to uplift the standard of education in the state include re-introduction of placement examination, (common entrance) for candidates intending to gain administration into JSS1 and SSS1.

He added that the era of automatic promotion in the government school has gone as the policy of no pass no promotion implement as from this 2022/2023 academic session.

Oladoyin hinted that in an attempt to eradicate the issue of poor performance of students,it is now mandatory for them to record 90 percent of attendance and also pass the first and second term exam before they can be permitted to write external examinations.
