Court stops OSIEC from conducting LG election in Osun

A federal High Court sitting in Osogbo has ordered the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) to stop its preparation for the conduct of local government elections in the state.

It would be recalled that the osun state independent electoral commission on August 15th fixed October 15th for the conduct of the elections which the people’s democratic party in the state vowed to boycot

On this heel the Party had approach the court to stop the process alleging that it was needless for Governor Gboyega Oyetola to conduct the election few months to the expiration of his tenure.

This court order is coming after the commission commenced training for its ad-hoc staff for the election.
