Pupils storm OAU, protest ASUU strike in Osun state

Some Primary school pupils in Ile Ife, Osun state have staged a peaceful protest against the lingering strike by universities lecturers

The pupils converged at the Obafemi Awolowo University main campus gate in company of their teachers armed with placards with various inscriptions and singing solidarity songs to drive home their demands.

This caught the attention of passersby which led to traffic gridlock at the institution gate for about 20 minutes,

some of them who spoke with newsmen demanded for improved welfare for University lecturers in the country, saying some of their parents are lecturers in various institutions

The pupils also noted that the strike is not only having a negative toll on the lecturers but almost on everyone in the country calling on the government to find a lasting solutions to the grievances of the striking lecturers

It would be recalled that the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) also vowed to stage a nation wide protest tomorrow in solidarity with striking University workers.
