Monarchs give condition for kingship stool in Ikale
The Abodi of Ikale, Oba George Faduyile, and the Odogo of Omi, Oba Olorunsola Akinyelure, have said any aspirant to a vacant kingship stool in Ikale must be someone whose father is dead.
Oba Faduyile stated this when some youths from Igodan Lisa visited him in his palace.
He denied the allegation that he had at one time said a kingship aspirant whose father is still alive could contest and emerge as Oba in Ikale.
The Abodi of Ikale maintained that such remains a taboo in Ikale.
He added that an Ikale monarch whose mother is still alive can never set his eyes on the mother from the day he becomes king.
On his part, the Odogbo of Omi, Oba Akinyelure, appealed to the Igodan Lisa youth to tow the path of peace.
