Ondo Assembly Amends Bill On Independent Of Auditor-General Office
The Ondo State House of Assembly has amended a bill for a law to provide for the establishment of an independent office of the Auditor-General and provide for the Audit of Public Accounts.
Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts Committee, Adefinranye Festus said the free level of independence given to the Auditor-General will enable the office to discharge it’s duties more effectively.
The majority leader Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi then moved the motion for the bill to be ammended and was seconded by lawmaker representing Ondo-West, Tomide Akinribido.
At the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun ruled that the bill should be amended.
Oleyeloogun said the bill is amended due to its necessity.
