Osun pensioners protest over non payment of pensions, gratuities

Retirees in Osun state have taken to the streets of Osogbo the state capital to protest non-payment of their pension and gratuity.

The retirees who converged on Ogooluwa in Osogbo, later took their protest to Osun state house of assembly carrying placard with various inscription to drive home their demands

The chairman of 2011/2012 retirees in the state Yemi Lawal said government had refused to pay their gratuity despite doing a contributory pension

He wants the former governor Rauf Aregbesola who is now a federal minister to be probed on how he expended federal government special intervention fund released to the state during his administration.

Another protesters decried the state of many retirees   saying many of them are  in  abject poverty.

The retirees said they are sending delegates to Abuja to prevail on the governor to pay their pension arrears.
