Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, dies aged 99

The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Phillip has died.

The Duke was married to Queen Elizabeth the II for more than 70 years and became the longest serving consort in British history.

A statement from Buckingham Palace said, “His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle at the age of 99.

Into his 90s, Prince Philip carried out a busy programme of public engagements, reflecting his own charitable interests.
