Presidency remains silent on IGP’s official status

The presidency says no date has been fixed for the announcement of a successor to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu.

Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu gave the update during a press briefing.

He said the appointment of the next IGP would not be based on ethnic considerations

Shehu also said there is no vacuum that will subsist and the system will take care of itself.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu reached retirement age on Monday 1, Feburary, 2021.
