COVID-19: Fayemi puts weekly activities and congregational gatherings on hold
The Ekiti state government has told churches and mosques in the state to ensure strict compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols.
These include hand washing, use of hand sanitizers, physical distancing and only half of the church or mosque capacity are to be occupied.
Also, only one service is allowed on Friday or Sunday and Saturday for members of 7th day adventist.
This means that all weekly activities and congregational gatherings have been put on hold.
The Ekiti state governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, gave all these directives in a broadcast to the state on wednesday.
Governor Fayemi was emphatic about the state’s intention to sanction anyone or organization that flouts these directives.
