Jimmy Lai charged under Hong Kong’s national security law
A Hong Kong business man, jimmy has been charged under a national security law on suspicion of haven conspired with foreign forces to endanger national security in the country.
The 73 year old prodemocracy media tycoon and long time critic of Hong Kong and Chinese government is the most high profile figure to be charged under the city’s state security law.
Mr Lai faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
Police raided his newspaper head office in August and arrested his executives.
He is currently been held in custody after been denied bail on alleged fraud charges.
