Human Right Watch condemns extrajudicial killing of 180 people in Burkina Faso

Human Rights Watch HRW has denounced recent extrajudicial executions of 180 people in Djibo, Northern Burkina Faso.

In a report based on testimonies from local residents, the human rights organization said mass graves containing at least 180 bodies have been discovered in recent months

It added that available evidence suggests the involvement of government security forces in mass extrajudicial executions.

HRW explained the bodies were buried in mass graves in March and April by local residents with the approval of the military and local authorities.
