California issues stay-at-home order over coronavirus fears
California has issued a stay at home order to residents to stem the spread of coronavirus across the most populous US state.
Governor of California, Gavin Newsom told the citizens to leave their homes when necessary during the pandemic.
Earlier, Newsom estimated that half of the 40 million people in the state would contract covid-19 in just the next two months.
The virus has claimed over 205 lives in the US and infected more than 14,000.
Globally, more than 250,000 people have tested positive for the illness and more than 10,000 have died.
