NYSC shuts down orientation camps nationwide over coronavirus fears

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Wednesday morning shut down all orientation camps nationwide over fears of the coronavirus.

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, is expected to give more details.

The Batch A corps members began their orientation on 10th March and were expected to end on March 30, but as learnt, that they will be getting their letters posting them to their places of primary assignment, just one week after camping

The minister, Mr Sunday Dare says this is part of the Federal Government’s precautionary measure against the spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).

All corps members are to be paid and sent to their places of primary assignment.

The coronavirus has so far killed over 7000 persons globally and three cases have been confirmed in Nigeria, although no death has been recorded in the country.
