Fayemi assents to Amotekun bill

Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemi has signed the Ekiti state security network and Amotekun corps bill into law.

He clarified that the corps’ responsibility was to compliment the efforts of the Nigeria police and ensure a crime free society.

The signing comes barely a month after the bill establishing the security network was passed by the state assembly.

While signing the law in Ado Ekiti, Fayemi explained that security of lives and property is a collective responsibility

He said traditional rulers in the state would be involved in the recruitment and training of Amotekun personnel.

The governor advised criminals to stay away from Ekiti state and called on investors to be sure of security as they explore business opportunities in the state.
