Kano government denies involvement in banishment of Sanusi

The Kano state government has denied involvement in the banishment of the former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

The attorney general and chief justice of the state, Ibrahim Muktar said the Kano state government only followed due process in the dethronement of the former emir.

Muktar said the decision to remove the emir was administrative, and had nothing to do with existing court cases.

This is just as the former Emir has vowed to challenge the banishment in court.
