INEC to ensure early voting system in future elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, wants Nigerians to engage electoral processes and make their own contribution in terms of the choices they make.

INEC national commissioner and chairman, information and voter education committee, Festus Okoye, disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja.

Okoye was reacting to the issue of low voters’ turnout in recent elections.

The national commissioner maintained that INEC is working on a system that would ensure early voting system, so that professionals on special duties can vote on election day.

Okoye explained that the commission is trying all its best to curb voters’ apathy in the country.
