ArmyDay: Fayemi wants Nigerians to work towards sustaining peace

The governor of Ekiti state, Dr Kayode Fayemi wants all Nigerians to work towards sustaining the peace in the country in order to guarantee sustainable development.

Fayemi was speaking during the grand finale of the armed forces Remembrance Day celebration in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital.

The governor who spoke with journalists shortly after he inspected the guard of honour explained that the statement credited to the attorney general of the federation on operation Amotekun will receive attention in due course.

The chairman of Nigeria legion in the state, retired, colonel Adeyanju Olorunda appealed to government at all levels to assist the old soldiers by paying more attention to their welfare.

The occasion witnessed laying of wreaths, firing of volley, while prayers were offered for the peace and unity of the nation.
