DSS gets 24 hours to release Sowore

The federal high court in Abuja has ordered the department of state services, DSS to release the convener of revolutionnow protest, Omoyele Sowore and his co-defendant, Olawale Bakare within 24 hours.

Presiding judge, justice Ijeoma Ojukwu gave the order at the commencement of their trial on charges of treasonable felony.

She said the DSS had no justifiable reason to continue   holding the defendants in custody after signing their release warrants.

Ojukwu also awarded a 100,000 naira fine against the DSS over its delay to serve the defence counsel with the additional proof of evidence in the ongoing trial.

She ordered that the cost be paid before December the 6th which is the next hearing.
