540 killed in road crashes in January – FRSC
The Federal Road Safety Commission has reported that about 540 persons have died in 950 road crashes in January.
FRSC, in its monthly road traffic crash report signed by corp marshal Boboye Oyeyemi said the figures indicated a decrease of 21 per cent in fatality.
The report said a total of 7,827 persons were involved in those accident with 3,383 persons injured.
It also shows that speed violation accounted for high causes of crashes.
The agency therefore appealed to the federal government and private media houses to promote road use education.
