Gov. Akeredolu celebrates 1st Xmas in government, expresses hope in 2018à
Ondo State Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has joined other Christians worldwide to celebrate Christmas.
The 2017 Christmas was unique as it marked the first which Governor Akeredolu would celebrate as the number one citizen of the Sunshine State.
The governor with his immediate family and topnotch of his cabinet have in the morning attended a Holy Communion Service at the Chapel of Epiphany Anglican church GRA Owo.
The Chaplain Rev. Adeolu Adejimi described the birth of Jesus’ Christ as a divine revelation and the good news of salvation unto mankind.
He admonished Christians to continue to live aright as contained in the Holy Bible for them to have a place in the kingdom of God.
At the Christmas Thanksgiving Service of the Cathedral Church of St. Andrew Imola, Owo, Arakunrin Akeredolu joined other Christians to praise the Almighty for the gift of Jesus Christ to the world
In his sermon titled ” The Seeking God”, the Bishop of Owo Diocese, Anglican Communion, Rt. Reverend Dr. Stephen Fagbemi said the plan of God for man was to make him have life in abundance but regretted that satan crept into the relationship between God and man with the deposit of sins which brought about death.
He said God had to come through Jesus Christ to lighten the darkness of man for effectual reconciliation which Christmas symbolises.
He equally stressed that Jesus Christ came to the world to give the people light, life and redeem their soul from sin.
While rejoicing with the people of Ondo State, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu expressed optimism that the coming year would bring about good tidings and development for the people of the state.
The governor noted with satisfaction the support of the people for his administration and the Federal Government which have begun to yield fruitful results due to their strong belief in his determination to provide all-round growth across all sectors in the state.
Arakunrin Akeredolu stressed the need for Christians to continue to show love to one another which the birth of Jesus Christ symbolises and explained that love should serve as a guiding principle which the state and country requires at this critical time to forge ahead.
