Zimbabwe holds candle-lit vigil for abducted doctor

Crowds of Zimbabweans lit candles at the main hospital in the capital Harare on Monday night at a vigil to condemn illegal abduction of Peter Magomboyi.

Clips of the doctors and nurses singing hymns outside Parirenyatwa hospital and calling for Dr Magomboyi’s return, were shared on the social media.

The doctors union believed Dr Magomboyi was abducted by the security forces because of his role in the recent strike action over poor pay.

On Saturday, Dr Magomboyi sent a whatsapp message alleging he had been kidnapped by three men.
