UNIOSUN confirms status of student set ablaze in Osogbo

The management of Osun state university has vowed to work with the police in ensuring that those that set a final year student of the institution ablaze are brought to book.

The victim, Victor Olamiju Oke was on Saturday set ablaze by some suspected cultists for refusing to join the group.

The institution’s P.R.O Ademola Adesoji who stated this while speaking to newsmen said those who witnessed the attack said, Victor was macheted by the suspected cultists before they poured petrol on him and set him ablaze.

Adesoji hinted that the victim is now at an undisclosed hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

The PRO disclosed that the university security unit is working with the police to ensure that the culprits are exposed and brought to book.

The Osun state police command spokesperson Yemisi Opalola who also confirmed the incident said investigation has commenced on the matter.
