Two killed, many injured in Osun PDP ward congress
Osun police command has confirmed that two persons lost their lives during the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) adhoc ward delegate Congress in the state.
The police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola who confirmed this in a statement said the victims,who were members of the PDP, were attacked by members of a rival group within the party.
Opalola said the incident happened at Oke-Oba, Aperire Village, in Iwo and koso area of ipetumodu respectively.
The police spokesperson said the suspected thugs attacked voters at the wards with broken bottles, sticks and guns
She added that in the process, five party members also sustained various degrees of injuries .
The spokesperson said police had arrested three suspects in connection with the killings
Opalola hinted that police were on the trail of other suspects that took part in the attack, saying that they would be prosecuted accordingly when arrested.
