Our troops encounter members of Boko Haram – Nigerian Army
The Nigerian Army says its troops in Yobe state had an encounter with members of the deadly Boko Haram sect.
Director of army public relations, brigadier general Sani Usman, said the military swung into action, following a tip-off from concerned residents of the area.
The report says troops of 120 battalions in conjunction with vigilantes engaged and neutralized one of the suspected Boko Haram members while several others flee in disarray with gunshot wounds.
Brigadier General Usman said the troops recovered an Ak-47 rifle with registration number 34364 and two empty rifle magazines.
