Super Eagles drop Osimhen, invite four new players for AFCON

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has pulled out of 2022 African Cup of Nations to allow his injury heal properly.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation has invited four new players.

They were invited as replacement for Osimhen, injured Abdullahi Shehu, Leon Balogun and Emmanuel Dennis.

A statement by NFF spokesperson, Ademola Olajire, says only the goalkeeping department is unchanged.

Players newly added to the AFCON squad are right back Tyrone Ebuehi, England–based Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, Greece-based Henry Onyekuru, and Czech Republic-based forward Peter Olayinka.
