South Korea to develop new weapons system by 2023

South Korea is planning to develop weapons system to detect and strike small drones and larger aircraft.

The South Korea’s Defence Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) said the plan is part of the country’s program to modernize its military.

DAPA noted that the development of the weapons system will cost 74 million dollars by 2023.

The system named block-1 would track and destroy small drones and other aircraft by locking invisible optical fiber razors on a target at close range.
