UPDATED: Protest Against Petrol Subsidy Rocks Osun
The coalition of civil societies organisation in osun state trooped to the streets of osogbo to protest against the hardship Nigerians are facing as a result of fuel subsidy removal by the federal government .
The protesters joined by some organisations such as the representative of students body called on president Bola Tinubu to quickly roll out meaningful socio economic palliative that will cushion the effects of current economic hardship on masses.
While speaking one of the protesters Waheed Saka noted that their action became imperative going by the hardship Nigerians have been subjected to, as a result of the hike price of fuel and it’s attendant effects on the economy.
Saka noted that subsidy removal was good initiative but federal government should have rolled out palliatives before removing it.
Also speaking, the state chairman of national association of Nigeria university,Ayobami Eruobami condemned the recent increments on school fees at different higher institutions, urging federal government to forestall the increments.
The protesters also expressed their readiness to join Nigeria labour congress in the protest against some of the Government policies that are affecting the livelihood of Nigerians
