Plateau Records Fresh Outbreak of Lassa Fever

Plateau state commissioner of health, Dr. Kunden Deyin says the state has recorded 28 new cases of Lassa fever with 10 deaths.

Deyin made the revelation to newsmen today in the state.

He said 64 cases were taken to the laboratory for confirmation out of which 28 persons were confirmed to Lassa fever.

The health commissioner hints that one of the cases was imported from Kaduna state, adding that most of the affected persons are responding to treatment.

Deyin advised people to report immediately to the nearest health facility, whenever they have indications of any form of fever.
