(PHOTOS) SSANU begins 7-day warning strike
The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU of Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife today joined their counterparts to embark on a seven days warning strike as directed by the national body.
Adaba FM correspondent Tolulope Faleye who was at the university to monitor the level of compliance reports that it was a total lockdown of vehicular movement on the main campus of the university.
As early as seven o clock in the morning, the campus gates was shut thereby preventing vehicles from gaining access into the campus .
The development also made students, staffers and members of the University community to walk for four kilometers from the campus gate to the main campus.
While speaking with newsmen the chairman of the senior staff Union of Nigerian Universities in the institution Taiwo Arobadi said they are not satisfied with the way they are being treated by the federal Government.
On his part the public relations officer of Obafemi Awolowo University Abiodun Olarenwaju said the management will find a way to ameliorate the effect of the strike on students of the institution.
The union vowed that if the federal government fails to accede to their demands in the next seven days, they will embark on an indefinite strike .
