Petrol sells at N1000/litre as scarcity bites hard in Ekiti

Amidst the fuel scarcity rocking the town of Ado Ekiti the state capital, some petrol black marketers spearheaded by some drivers and Okada Riders have taken over the town.

Adaba FM observed that the black marketers were selling between the rate of #1000 per litre and #6000 for 5litres.

Some who spoke with Adaba FM under anonymity berated the attitude of some petrol stations in Ado Ekiti as they refused to sell the products to them but selling to the black marketers.

It would be recalled that the Ekiti state government set up petroleum taskforce committee led by Mr Israel Adesokan to look into the scarcity of fuel in the state.

In an interview with Mr Adesokan said that government is working in hands with oil marketers in the state to arrive at a random price.

He said that government would start going tough on the black marketers and filling stations selling to black marketers.

Mr Adesokan promised that there’s going to the story in the state as soon as possible.
