PDP vows to stop scheduled local govt election in Osun

The People’s Democratic Party in Osun State has vowed to do everything possible within the ambient of law to stop the local government election scheduled to hold on October 15.

The Chairman of the Osun PDP Caretaker Committee, Akindele Adekunle stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo the Osun state capital.

Adekunle who described OSIEC move as illegal said it will engage in all lawful means including mobilising the people of Osun State in a protest to halt the planned local government elections.

The PDP chairman noted that the Election is targeted at wasting resources of the state and to cover some financial infractions by the outgoing government.

It would be recalled that the osun independent electoral commission today fixed October 15 for the conduct of local government election
