Oyebanji Explains Delay In Appointing Cabinet Members

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has assured that the names of members of his cabinet would be sent to the state House of Assembly in the coming days.

He stated this during a meeting with members of the 7th Assembly at the governor’s office in Ado Ekiti

Oyebanji noted that contrary to the rumour making the rounds that he did not want to appoint commissioners and other advisers to his cabinet, said that the delay was to give room for the party and the committee set up by government to screen potential political appointees do their work in fulfilment of his campaign promises.

The governor urge the house of Assembly members to do a thorough screening for the potential political appointees when their names were finally sent.

He noted that his administration will not impose commissioners or any political appointee that would disobey order of the House.

Oyebanji further stated that the state government would partner with the legislators in policy formulation that will have positive impact on the lives of Ekiti
People.

Speaker of the House of Assembly Adeoye Aribasoye reiterated the commitment of members of the 7th assembly to collaborate with the executive arm of government in delivering is promises to Ekiti citizens.
