Ore Farmers Draw Battle Line With Akeredolu

Farmers in Ore have staged a protest against Ondo state government’s alleged decision to evacuate them from the lands on which they farm.

The protesters donned cassava, Kolanut and Cocoa leaves and matched through the town chanting solidarity songs.

They carried placards with different inscription such as ‘no farmers, no nation’, farmers are the food providers of the nation.

Three of them, Segun Ebiwonjumi, Ikuerowo Orete and Raphael Ayenitaju wondered why government would continue to allocate lands on which they farm, especially, the one Ore-Okitipupa road now that there is hunger in the country.

They appealed to governor Akeredolu to urgently rescind the decision saying such move will increase crime rate in the area
