Ondo Police Order Residents To Submit Illegal Firearms in 21Days

The Ondo State Police Command has issued a 21day ultimatum to residents of the state with illegal firearms to submit them at the nearest Police station.
The commissioner of police Gbenga Adeyanju stated this today during a press conference. Failure to do so at the expiration of the ultimatum would lead to sanction.
The directive according to the police boss was in compliance with the order of the inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to mop up illegal arms and ammunition in the country.
Adeyanju also paraded some suspects who specialise in car snatching and burglary in Gaga community of Akure.
He said that a suspect, Desmond Fadamitan was arrested after a mobile phone stolen with one of the vehicles was recovered from him.
His arrest led to the investigating team to Ikere-Akoko where another suspect Olayemi Adeoye was arrested.
The Third suspect Roland Imafidon was later apprehended in Abuja, following further investigation.
Seven vehicles were recovered from their possession.
