Ondo INEC harps on fair, balance reportage during 2023 general elections

Ondo state INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ambassador Rufus Akeju has vowed that he will clamp heavily on any self acclaimed journalist willing to frustrate and discredit the commission, before, during and after the 2023 general election.

He also appealed to journalist to ensure adequate election reportage during the poll, as he described the press as a critical stakeholder in any political or electoral process.

The INEC boss stated this during a day capacity building for journalists on conflict-sensitive reporting and 2023 general election, held in NUJ press centre, Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital.

Akeju assured INEC readiness to deliver in its mandate during the 2023 presidential poll, which will surpass previous records of the commission across the country.

NUJ National president Chris Isiguzo noted that journalists in the country are fully ready to participate in the 2023 electoral process.
