New Cases of Lassa Fever Recorded in Ondo

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health in Ondo State, Dr Taiwo Oni, confirmed that the fresh cases involving two persons in Akoko South-West area of the state and three others in Owo.

He said of the three cases in Owo, one was recorded at Achievers University, Owo, while the other two were recorded in Owo metropolis.

Dr. Oni said those involved have been isolated to prevent further spread of the disease. He explained that efforts are on to trace and save those that might have had contact with the victims.

The Permanent Secretary stressed that the State Government is collaborating with the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, in handling the recorded cases.

He called on the people of the state with recurring fever to visit the nearest government hospital for necessary attention.
