NBA demands justice over NSCDC’s assault against colleague

The three branches of the Nigeria Bar Association in Ekiti State have demanded justice against an officer of the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps NSCDC Mr David Omotuase who assaulted one member of the Bar, Ayodeji Aina Esq.

The Legal Practitioners who protested to the Headquarters of the NSCDC in Ekiti said that assaulting and harassing lawyers has become a regular occurrence from Officer Deji Omotuase.

Dr Michael Afolayan Esq, Chairman Ikere branch of the NBA who spoke on behalf of the Chairmen of the three branches in Ekiti appealed to the commandant to speak to the cops on the need to have a perfect and smooth working relationship with the body of lawyers.

They appealed to the command to discipline the culprit administratively so as to serve as deterrent to others.

While Narrating his ordeal the victim Ayodele Aina Esq alleged that David Omotuase assaulted him while he was trying to have access to his client who was in the custody of the corps.

The Commandant John Fáyẹmí who spoke through the Public Relations Officer Tolukolade Afọlábí, appealed to the warring lawyers to be patient, saying the command had begun investigation into the matter.

He called on the public to always make contact with the command if their rights are violated by men of the command.

It was reported that on the 5th of April, the alleged officer David Omotuase slapped the victim Ayodeji Aina. at the divisional office of the command in Ado.
