National Assembly committed to ensuring good governance at the grassroots – Senator

The Senate says the national assembly is committed to ensuring good governance at the grass root level.

Chairman Senate committee on media and public affairs, Aliyu Sabi-Abdulahi disclosed this in a chat with newsmen in Abuja.

Sabi-Abdulahi explained that the issue of local government autonomy is on the front burner in the ongoing constitutional amendment efforts.

The chairman senate committee on media and publicity says the national assembly is working on grey areas and inconsistencies in the process of ensuring good governance at the grassroots level.

Sabi-Abdulahi added that all relevant stakeholders should prevail on the state houses of assembly to be on the same page with the national assembly.
