Measles Outbreak: New York county bans unvaccinated minors in public

A country in New York state has declared a state of emergency following a severe outbreak of measles.

Rockland country, on the north of New York City, has barred unvaccinated children from public spaces after over 150 cases were confirmed.

Violating the order will be punishable by a fine of 500 dollars and up to six months in prison.

Officials said the order, which bans unvaccinated children from places such as schools, shopping centres, restaurants and places of worship would last 30 days.
