Liberia Polls: Results out within two days as eligible voters cast their votes

Eligible voters have exercised their franchise to choose a new president and legislators in Liberia.

The election holds to choose the successor of 78-year-old president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who had served for twelve years. Results are expected to be announced within two days.

Information has it that the exercise began smoothly as voters were eager to elect a president of their choice.

Twenty candidates are taking part in the contest and their fate would be decided by the over two million accredited voters.
