I left 20billion naira in Ondo Government account – Mimiko
The immediate past administration in Ondo state says it left about 20 billion naira in the coffers of the state contrary to the recent announcement by the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu that he met 9 billion naira in the state’s account.
This was made known in a statement by the immediate past commissioner for information Kayode Akinmade.
The statement also says the Mimiko’s administration did not incur any foreign debt in its 8 years.
Akinmade said the external debt of the state which he said was over fifteen billion dollars was inherited from previous administrations.
He explained further that the over twenty billion naira left in the state coffers was meant to offset the owed salaries of civil servants before the alleged disappearance of the then Accountant General.
