LASIEC to announce local council polls results at ward collation centres

The Lagos state Independent Electoral Commission says it will announce results of the July twenty-second local council polls at ward collation centres.

This is contained in a statement by the chairman of commission, Justice Ayotunde Phillips through Lagos state independent electoral commission director of publicity, Mr Dapo Latunde.

She says the commission will set up an election support centre at its head office to monitor developments in various collation centres.

She added that the commission had started distribution of non-sensitive electoral materials to electoral officers across the 20 local governments and thirty-seven development areas.

The commission’s boss says the early distribution was to ensure early arrival of the materials to various polling units for a hitch-free election.

Lagos state independent electoral commission has fixed July twenty second for the council polls and July twenty-nine for the run-off.
