Kenyan court detains Japheth over hate messages on WhatsApp
A court in the South-Eastern Kenyan town of Malindi has detained an administrator of a Whatsapp group, Japheth Mulewa, over hate messages shared days after the elections in the country.
The police accused Mulewa, of sharing hate messages that threatened violence against a community in the town.
Police constable James Muyes said in court that Mulewa, was arrested on Tuesday.
The judge, Yvone Khatambi, ordered Mulewa’s detention for further investigation.
