Kenya Electoral senior official, Roselyn Akombe resigns
A senior official of Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC), Roselyn Akombe has resigned and fled to the United States.
Akombe said the electoral body is under political siege and is unable to reach consensus or take any decisions.
Mrs. Akombe said she had feared for her safety while in Kenya after receiving numerous threats.
Last week, opposition leader Raila Odinga pulled out of the 26 October presidential run-off.
The Supreme Court annulled the result of the election held on August 8, after finding irregularities.
