Governor Akeredolu pledges support for effective birth registration

Wife of the Ondo state governor, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu says women are relevant to the successful implementation of an effective birth registration.

The wife of the governor made the remark at a stakeholders meeting on accelerated birth registration plus, organised by the Betty-Anyanwu Akeredolu foundation in conjunction with national population commission.

She said half of the children under the age of five are not registered, hence the need to sustain and promote effective birth registration.

In his remarks, governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said his government is ready to support any agency that is committed to the promotion of birth registration.

Director of national populations commission Ondo state, Falusi Tobosun commended Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu for the success recorded during the pilot project of the accelerated birth registration in Ifedore local government.
