Gov. Adeleke reveals plans to create jobs for Osun youth
Osun State Government has revealed its plans towards ensuring industrial development policy programs that will attract investors, generate revenue as well as create jobs for the youth in the state
Governor Ademola Adeleke made the revelation at the official launch of the new sustainable industrial development policy held at the Osun State Civil Service Commission, Osogbo the state capital.
The governor who was represented by his deputy Kola Adewusi noted that the policy is developed by the state government in collaboration with Osun state university and other industrial stakeholders inorder to create enabling environment for foreign and local investors.
Governor Adeleke noted that the industrial development policy is a reflection of the administration to resolve and strengthen the state economy, create wealth as well as to reduce poverty and youth restiveness through revival of moribund industries in the state.
Earlier in her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives and Empowerment, Kehinde Odediran, said a nation can only grow economically through a functioning industrialization and sustainable development, stressing that the policy initiative will drive economy of the state.
In his keynote address, the Vice Chancellor Osun state university, Professor Clement Adebooye, said industrial development policy is a fundamental step any government needs to place the society on the path of steadiness for industrial productivity and growth.
Those in attendance were President, Osun chambers of commerce, industry, mines and agriculture, Dr Olu Olujide, Osun branch Manager Bank of Industry, Sunkanmi Oriyomi and state Manager SMEDAN, Dr. Samuel Ademola among others.
