Fast-spreading fires kill ten people in California

Fast-spreading fires in some parts of California’s wine region have killed at least ten people. The report says about one thousand five hundred properties have been destroyed by the fires.
A state of emergency has been declared in northern areas after mass evacuations.
About twenty thousand people fled from Napa, Sonoma and Yuba counties in response to some of the State’s worst-ever wildfires.
Such fires are more common in Southern California but a combination of dry weather and strong winds have fuelled the destruction in the North.
